Update 09/06/09 – This song is old. It was the first full song I ever recorded. I think quality-wise, it sounds terrible. However, to this day, people love the damn thing:) The production notes (such as they are) are below the lyrics – they are taken from my 2005 myspace blog post on this song. Enjoy.
Every Minute *production notes at bottom*
She was a sign straight from the skies sublime fine sweeter than wine Honey coated caramel dime beauty defined A body that would make angels cry Walking my Earth like Heaven disguised she filled my mind with desires
Like fate rolling the dice we caught contact of eyes You remind me of my whip baby I wanna ride Pretty face and round thighs ma you smoother than rhyme I could never break your heart that would be crueler than time
If time is all we have I won’t be waiting in line It wasn’t just her physical loved the degrees of her mind Her soul shined like a precious gem – If love is a crime Her body moved like the ocean – Then I’m ready to die
Soft spoken like a goddess all knowing inside She had my head piece floating like a rose on the tide She like dro omnipotent and I wanna get high I couldn’t handle what my eyes were scoping – vision of light
I think I need you in my life ma just to get by I’ll bind your heart with a piece of twine and get that knot tied …Just to get by I’ll bind your heart with a piece of twine and get that knot tied
I treasure every minute we together as the time flies Would never think of breaking up the trust that we abide by Catch your tears make a wish I wish I may I wish I might make you my life
Precious gem shining like a diamond in the sunlight You close to perfection I’m a mess we doing alright Catch your tears make a wish I wish I may I wish I might make you my wife
Ma I would never change on you I’ll still remain the same dude with the game and the age old boots Because I ain’t spend no cake on you I spent time And I ain’t spit lines nor played games on you
I ain’t have to you approached me We both tipsy off the rum that’s how this O G Realized the time had come for he to be thee Type of man that has one ebony queen
But baby we beef and the sex is so sweet And you be testing me but I pass with no cheats And we been so broke that at times we don’t eat So that’s how I know that our roots go so deep
Your kiss leaves me weak I place my heart in your keep Put my soul in these words and these words on this beat Speakers pumping out my testament of love I think we Might be just what you and I been dreaming of that’s real speak
Time is you and me holding hands To the point where I cannot begin to understand where you end and I begin Time is more than measured spans It’s that second when our eyes meet and I see that you fully understand
That you need the sort man That I be and I need the sort woman that can comprehend the things that drive me More than lovers we’re divine like heavenly participants at least that’s how I see When you right beside me
And never will we part from life unto death girl Our lives are intertwined like music and sex girl Inject you in my veins whenever I need a fix girl You’re the heart of my world you’re the pressure I’m the pearl
You’re the magnet I’m the steel attracted to this girl You never hesitate to let me know that this is real And that’s real I feel that you are a gift girl Perfection I want you to understand this girl
My lyrics are often violent and full of negativity (for which I make no excuses…that’s just me) but since the majority of my friends here are female I wanted something softer to start with, something sweet.
However I do not have many lyrics that could be considered “for the ladies”. That’s why this song is an amalgamation of all of my more female centric verses.
The first verse was written years ago and I always planned on using it with an R&B song (you know, the prerequisite rap part). But since I never actually pursued a musical career nothing ever came of it.
The second verse was more recent, about four to six months old. I wrote it at the request of a friend to put on a similar track of his. The track was never finished correctly so I used the verse on this one.
The third verse presented a problem. I found out that of all of my lyrics I only had those first two verses, so I had to make this one on the spot from scratch. I was at a lost to what the say, so I borrowed a line from one of my poems (Time) and went from there.
The chorus is from a first draft of the second verse. The guy singing it is my man Kaz. The mp3 on here does him no justice; neither does the shitty recording environment we used. He has a pleasing somewhat raspy singing voice. Originally I was going to do the chorus myself (not sing) but got him to do it at the last moment.
The beat is by a guy named Flip Magoo. I got a few instrumental files of his on a torrent site and I like them. But I cannot actually find the guy. I need to get in contact with him. It has an odd reggae ambiance feel to it that I liked.
This was recorded in a closet using Adobe Audition and a condenser mic. It was never properly mixed down (as I have no technical musical knowledge whatsoever) and can never be mastered (as I can not afford a studio nor an engineer).
As it stands I would love to record it professionally or at least in a halfway decent studio (or even a not so decent one) because I think it has commercial appeal and could be a hit.
I miss that look that was always on your face Right before you hopped in the ride The curves of your shape the grip on your waist The way you was moving them thighs
I miss your smile the way you played Those games you played with my time How you told me no but really meant yes And always changing your mind
I miss those nights just sitting back Talking this not speaking that But thinking back I really miss Those time when were just relaxed
I miss you more than I miss my youth Would kiss you all and release in you Everything I have just to join our roots So we can born and conceive a truce That includes us both strictly me and you
I miss that walk and I miss that smile And I miss that ass it would drive me wild And I miss your kiss your touch your lips And I miss your moan how you turn and twist And I miss you running to escape the dick And I miss those hips I really miss you miss
And you know what I miss most of all The way you would go down and show me love Moving your head in time with us And I love you for that way more than you know
Because in that one single act you have gained all my trust You have shown me your like can be tempered by lust You have shown me that you could pleasure us both Just by pleasuring me and that’s pleasure itself
Let me drink and speak my thoughts before I die and all is lost let me imbibe and speak of course the truth that lies beneath the corpse of ties that bind now loose I cut the noose that tied us to the cross I ride the wave that follows corks and smoke the haze that alters course now captain I to land on boats of hemp on seas of sweetest rum needed most in day or night the bottle broke I never cried cause liquor lost is liquor found by those that died and need to drown the woes of death beneath the sound of liquid flowing through their mouths poor spirits lost and can’t be found for thirst bonds phantoms to the ground and I will gladly join that crowd once I partake and write this down no suicide I speak of minds that travel once that juice collides with liver blood and alters time till theoretics recombine I mean the eye can see through skies and paint the thoughts of all mankind upon the moon that hovers by that god may see we are sublime we are divine just tip the bottle and then recline and sail with I and sail with I and sail with I and sail with I
If you would have told me That you loved me With that half smirk Betraying the truth of Four separate nights Two of talk One of play And one Of course Of us
Fastest the horse of time That races nose to nose with I The first to cross that finish line Pre ordained
I re define
Myself to host my dream’s desires I quote my hopes from childish rhymes
“I wish I may I wish I might” I said that night beneath your skies
Dissolved into my base components Sub atomic parts’ divulgence We are all the same
But motion causes things to change
I wither on this page of rage Passive though it may be I quiver from the strangest things Like your aura passing me
Within this brick and mortar maze Of lives lived tragically Salvation graced my inner gaze She sassed me frankly stole my aim
And asked succinctly “Who’s to blame?” “Not I” said I To my own shame
It’s vision summarily blurred My future died years ago My past has passed away and now My ego lives in word
My id has underlined my brain And crossed my t’s and dotted i’s Teacher to my heart and pain
It instructs my nerves to conduct my frame To power legs to walk pass cries Of help and hurt and all that’s sane Or considered such by those that lie
I think of self leave all behind
This is my day and age For me to live my life Selfish you may say But I have quite too often tried To do the things your way So today I die reborn in flames
And if you should walk The walk of kings Through courts of sea mist Through halls of knights
And if you should talk As rolling tongued royal To the highest of highs Though slave you may be
And if you should speak To the lowest form And shun he who holds The throne
Than sir I say Or madam You are truly of the blessed Gifted beyond genius I am humbled in your midst
And if you can please The majority Yet make the minorities smile If you feel your inferiority In the presence of a child But feel as god when amongst The beasts that are scattered in this wild Land of opportunities Where monsters dress in style
Then you my friend are amongst the best The pure untainted wish of god made flesh
You my friend are never less Never more than perfect
Oh yes you may have flaws But you are a giant amongst the small
And if you can love without being loved And regret not one moment of life
Then you my friend Are truly like The moon that lights the night The center stage, dramatic wave The hand that points the sight The move from wrong to right
Eternal the seconds, spent like loose change Awaiting your presence, counting the days Days that exist only to wait on your grace My woman of taste, of scandalous ways
Wave after wave, undulating, your shape Water that walks on my surface, I drink Sate myself on the flesh that lies ‘neath your waist Of your eyes do I think that your gaze sharpens stakes
You thrust to my rhythm, I thrust and we shake We lust with our hearts, we dance there in place Our melody plays, to this song we embrace You sing a harsh tune, I say nothing, we link
Like chain and like fence and like amorous snakes We slide skin on skin, the thing that we make Is like oil that sprays and we are the flame We ignite and we burn like a heretic’s shame
Oh lady Oh woman Please come unto me
Let eyes Meet with eyes Let our thighs meet between
Why cry when rivers feed oceans Tears can cause movement but connections cause motions From time out of mind a flow written then spoken The words given freedom till the concept is broken
We gain so much nothing but lose the whole notion Of knowing what’s real and what’s strictly emotion Of knowing what’s fact and what’s strictly promotion Of knowing which track or which path; where we’re going
Proper grammar for propaganda, beyond that they kill But before that they dampen you’re ability to feel They teach sheep how to construct their very own shields That they use in their ignorance to reject and repel
This prevents them from learning to channel their will Through the pen, through the sword on the side of what’s real The lifestream is dying, they destroy and rebuild But their constructs are shoddy yet made with such skill
How else could their words create something so ill How else could they brainwash your colors to nil Or whitewash your dreams and your life up until You start to believe that you‘re really fulfilled?
She gave him the fire He screamed; murder in his eyes Committed slow suicide in between her thighs
She gave him the fire He cried, but tears can’t wash the burn He knew the risk, but really, there’s just one sure way to learn
She gave him the fire At first denial is his friend Then denial turns to anger when the truth starts to set in
She gave him the fire And now, he comes to understand There’s no running, there’s no hiding only one way this could end
She gave me the fire? He asks in denial When the anger gives way To rational thoughts revival
The whys and the hows of The lies and the cries cause The truth denied Ends the life design
She gave him the fire Burning to end his existence As his frame melts away His own thought his only witness
Found thinking of himself in past tenses, he lies listless Statistics impregnated by the birth of his carnal wishes Life counted in days, nonoxynol-9 ways to prevent this But the fire is relentless
She gave him the fire In more ways than the obvious it burns The bridges that connect flesh to mental He learns the song and with it he turns Dancing to the fires instrumental
Friends become sentimental Everyday, little by little, he fades away Days fade to gray
Until nothing replaces the somethings Of days spent with nothing To do but hang till the grave gets Closer and calls in a way that we all feel
Hoping until the life record is broken But still hoping Walking until his last breath leaves him choking But still walking Till hope and step both falter His soul is falling Falling in love with his coffin
She gave him the fire Turned pleasure into Deaths burnt offering
And now, he prays
She gave him the fire He screamed; murder in his eyes Committed slow suicide in between her thighs
She gave him the fire He cried, but tears can’t wash the burn He knew the risk, but really, there’s just one sure way to learn
She gave him the fire At first denial is his friend Then denial turns to anger when the truth starts to set in
She gave him the fire And now he comes to understand There’s no running, there’s no hiding only one way this could end
Empty of heart is he that states That he will but does not
Church and state will rebuild The Earth and take what they killed Rebirth a clone of man’s will and Worse claim that it’s real and Works but only until it works
Then maybe the cycle will end When the lust to take lose retake And claim dominion fades
Maybe something better begins When the greed consumes itself And the sheep seek better ways
Instead of simply hoping to see better days
But what calls men to action What must be lost before they rise And take their satisfaction Which faction dies before the lies Are seen as manufactured
That is to say, where is the brave To take the initial pain That incites that initial rage
